Midipedia is a wiki that strives to catalogue the peculiarly intriguing phenomenon of music distributed in the form of Standard MIDI Files on floppy disks in the 1990's. At a time when storage, bandwidth and processing power were scarce, the compact nature of MIDI data was ideal for karaoke, backing tracks, music education, or simply listening for the sake of enjoying music.

Our data is retrieved from public sources and private collections.

We are currently in the phase of establishing the wiki, only pre-approved users can contribute for now. Once we feel confident enough to pretend that we know what we are doing we will open editing for everybody.
